Who's Who at Sundance Adult Village



Community Manager

Pat Pentz-Young  

A Community Manager's job duties include but are not limited to maintaining association records, community site inspections, CC&R enforcement, violation letters, and other correspondences. The Community manager also interacts with homeowners, board members, the developer, vendors and staff.  Attends and chairs community and board meetings.  Reviews financial statements, authorizes work orders, and vendor payments.

Activities Director   

The Activities Director is responsible for the following:

  • Plans, coordinates and implements resident programs, classes and special community-wide events.  Solicits input and involvement from residents to stimulate participation.
  • Assists members, chartered clubs, community organizations and Association departments in the scheduling of Association facilities and collection of fees, if applicable.
  • Oversees the newcomer presentations to ensure adequate promotion of amenities and community participation.
  • Maintains and monitors the Activities budget; supervises Activities staff.
  • Assists residents with the chartered club application process, assignment of facility space, development and promotion of programs and general overseer.
  • Performs other duties as directed.

Starr Ballew

Originally from New York, Starr began her professional business career working as a National Account Executive for a Kansas City advertising agency after receiving her graduate degree from Pace University in Marketing Management in 1982.  Many years later after enjoying a successful international marketing career, Starr changed hats again and began living the active adult lifestyle where she worked and resided. From 1998 until 2002, Starr gained experience in the management of an active adult community at Del Webb's Sun City Grand. "When the opportunity to work at Sundance Adult Village presented itself in 2004, I never hesitated because I knew working with folks in my own age group would give me lots of job satisfaction" said Starr.  "My rewards come every day when I hear and see all the happy faces and laughter expended by our residents interacting with one another at the Sundance Adult Village Recreation Center.  It's the best job I've ever had."

Primary responsible for providing all administrative assistance  to Community Manager which includes
customer service, preparing/mailing violation letters and overall administrative duties that lead to the success
of on-going projects. The Administrative Assistant Hires, manages, and schedules Front Desk Monitors and provides relief to Front Desk Monitors.  Facility management of building maintenance and repairs including outdoor pools and tennis/pickle ball courts. Manages Day Porter service. Orders office supplies and equipment. Prepares payroll and maintain employee records. Assists with Standards compliance in order to meet community standards goals. Addresses customer issues and ensure effective, long-term solutions. Serves as backup to Community Manager and Activities Director in their absences. Designs, organizes, implements, coordinates, and executes special projects as needed. Serve as Recreation Center's Notary Public. Meets with vendors, obtain bids. Meets and greet residents and their guests, answer telephones as needed.




Monitors
Our Monitors respond to incoming phone calls and to residents entering the office, collects information from customers and gives initial assistance. The Monitor also provides general office clerical and special projects assistance. For general information and to purchase tickets for Sundance activities, trips, and events, stop at the front desk, located in the lobby of the Recreation Center. The monitors at the front desk also accept contracts and payment for Sundance Newspaper ads and room rentals. Be sure to provide your community association identification card to the monitor when visiting the Rec. Center.

Being a member of the staff and also a resident of SAV, I can assure you every effort is made to make your visits to the Center a fulfilling and pleasant experience.  Personally I enjoy living in Sundance and love the warm Arizona weather.  My motto is be happy and enjoy every day.

   

Gloria Fifield

Another transplant, from southern Minnesota. My husband, Virgil, and I are retired teachers who decided to trade shoveling snow for shoveling sunshine. We are part of Sundance Adult village and enjoy the friendly people, abundant sunshine and gorgeous mountain views.

   
 

Paul Drop

My wife and 3 children moved to Arizona in 1973 from Tinley Park Il. I retired from APS and have lived in Sundance since February 2006.

 

   Muriel

I'm married with two daughters, four grandchildren and one very spoiled poodle named Paris.  In people years Paris is 105 years old.  In her ripe old age she still loves to play ball and take me for short walks.  Before relocating to Arizona I lived in Albuquerque, New Mexico working for Motorola for 18 years.  Prior to New Mexico I lived in Chicago where I worked for Motorola for 15 years.  My husband Roger and I came to Arizona to retire, and we're very happy with our decision.

 
   Jacquie Tucci

Born and raised in Chicago,IL . Married to my best friend Nick for 48yrs and we have one daughter and two grand children living in San Diego, which prompted the move to Arizona in 2005. Once we saw the homes and facilities in Sundance Adult Village we knew this would be our home. I love all the activities offered and my favorites are water aerobics and quilting and especially all the great folks I have met here.

 

Jeannette Riley

My husband, Mike and I are native Delawareans. Previously worked for the State of Delaware/Public Health. We have two dogs, Moose & Maggie. I have two terrific boys and three stepchildren. In fact, all of our family still live in Delaware. So, why am I in Arizona? We retired and decided to move to the valley of the sun. Tired of cold, rainy weather and shoveling snow.

 
  Kelley Raio 

Born and raised in Ventura County, CA., I moved to Arizona in July, 2004.  I spent 12 years managing automotive dealerships until I started here at Sundance Adult Village in October, 2009.  After work, I enjoy coaching my two daughters, ages 12 and 10, in their club softball team.  I also own a screen printing business where I screen print shirts.

Mary Clarke 

I was born in West Virginia and grew up in New Haven, Connecticut. I moved to Phoenix, Arizona in 1958 and met my husband, Ward, in 1993 while I was working as a travel agent. Ward moved here from Albany, N.Y.  I have lived in Arizona most of my life and Ward and I have lived in Sundance Adult Village since 2005. We love it here.
